All the latest advances in Obstetrics & Gynecology are available at our office. However, we have not lost our personal touch with individual patients. I will directly provide all aspects of care, including appointments, reviewing results, deliveries and surgeries and rounding at the hospital. For those who may prefer a female provider, our very competent nurse practitioners, Amy Kidney and Karen Iaquinto, are also available everyday for appointments or emergency visits. Same-day appointments are always available, and all phone calls are answered the same day.
I was raised in Queens, NY, and I am a graduate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan. After medical school, I pursued advanced specialty training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at New York University Medical Center, and I have been in private practice in Nassau County for more than twelve years. I am a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, as well as a member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the Medical Society of the State of New York, Nassau County Medical Society, and the Nassau County Academy of Medicine. I am also an active member of the Chairman’s Advisory Committee at Winthrop-University Hospital, as well the Surgical Review Committee, the Obstetrical Peer Review Committee, and the OBGYN Resident Review Committee. In addition, I am one of the active members of the United Healthcare/Oxford Regional Quality Review Committee for the Northeastern United States.
With a few exceptions, all aspects of obstetrical and gynecological care are handled in our office. In addition, billing and insurance issues are also dealt with directly in our office. Our nurse practitioners, Amy Kidney and Karen Iaquinto, are also from Long Island. Amy is an accomplished advanced nurse practitioner and midwife with considerable experience in the fields of gynecology and obstetrics. Her career over the last ten years has spanned both busy hospital environments as well as intensive private practice. She holds a Masters Degree, as well as Certificates in Nurse Midwifery and Advanced Practice Nursing from the prestigious New York University program in Manhattan. She has had considerable experience at the Labor & Delivery suites of North Shore University Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, both as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Midwife. She also has a vast array of skills in the field of infertility, having worked as the senior In-Vitro Fertilization nurse at the world-renown NYU School of Medicine’s Program for Reproductive Surgery & Infertility. She is truly an asset to our practice, and our patients simply adore her personality, as well as her competence.
Karen is an advanced nurse practitioner and certified professional childbirth educator whom I have known for well over a decade. We used to work together many years ago when I first finished my specialty training and moved to Long Island for private practice. Karen has been in the women’s healthcare field for over 18 years, as both a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. She holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing, as well as a Certificate in Advanced Practice Nursing in OBGYN from Stony Brook University. She is also a certified member of the National Association of Childbirth Education Specialists. Karen has considerable experience in obstetrical and gynecological nursing and infertility, as well as a special interest in all aspects of childbirth, breastfeeding and the peripartum period. Having been an advanced-practitioner nurse for the past seven years, Karen has an exceptional background in office gynecology, including care of the normal and high-risk pregnancies. Alongside her busy office hours, together with Amy, she also administers the Lamaze and childbirth education classes in our office. Karen has quite a dedicated following, and her patients often refuse to see anyone else but her.
As mentioned above, we are conveniently located directly across the street from New Island Hospital. Our primary Hospital, however, is Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, and this affiliation provides patients with the most advanced and modern Labor & Delivery Suite anywhere on Long Island. In addition, our office is also affiliated with New Island Hospital, North Shore University Hospital and St. Francis Hospital.
